Coming soon · Kilmeaden & Ballyduff, Co. Waterford
Barre.ie is planning classes for Kilmeaden and Ballyduff (sometimes spelled Kilmeadan). Barre is a gentle, full-body workout that mixes ballet-style barre work, Pilates and light strength training. Every age and ability is welcome.
Barre builds strength through small, steady movements rather than jumping or heavy weights. That makes it easy on knees, hips and backs, and it still leaves you feeling worked. Plenty of people come to barre after an injury, a break or a baby.
Barre.ie is run by its owner, Joanna Morrissey. Joanna found barre while recovering from post-partum arthritis, after being told she might not exercise the same way again. Within six months of starting barre she was running and lifting again. Now she wants to share that with her neighbours.
We haven't set the schedule yet. Waitlist members tell us which nights suit them, and the most popular nights become the first classes.
No. There's no dance experience needed, and most people in a class have never done ballet.
Not fit at all. Each move has an easier option, and you work at your own pace.
